Scientists mix single cells with ADTs and encapsulate them in droplets, along with microbeads. Cell lysis within the droplet releases mRNAs and antibody-derived tags (ADT) for microbead capture before PCR amplification, size separation, and single cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq).
